Getting started guide

The JSTOR Quick Start handout is a brief introduction to JSTOR for researchers and students, and includes basic searching tips and frequently asked questions. 

We also recommend bookmarking our Orientation resources page. On this page, librarians and educators will find resources for training, information on collections, and updates regarding new content and tools on JSTOR. It's a great link to send to faculty or share on your school's LibGuide for teaching resources.

When a student struggles to find a research topic, when a faculty member is looking for a discussion prompt for a particular class, or when you want a great short read based on scholarship, try JSTOR Daily.

It is an online magazine that provides context and background to news stories and current events. The authors of JSTOR Daily articles are journalists and academics, and all pieces link to content freely available on JSTOR for deeper reading.

Research Basics: a free, open, academic research skills course

Research Basics is a research fundamentals series developed by JSTOR in conjunction with librarian partners. The course has a scope broader than JSTOR-specific instruction. Its three, standalone modules include self-paced video lessons, interactive learning activities, and mastery quizzes to help high school students acquire knowledge and develop skills in the area of general academic research. As learners complete each module, they earn badges to share. Research Basics is open to everyone.
