Compilations and Containers

A JSTOR Compilation is a global list to which a Forum cataloger can add local values. The categorical, thematic, or descriptive grouping compiles the item into a larger sub-collection in JSTOR’s Open Community Collections.

A Container describes the larger work or hierarchical organization that contains the item.

JSTOR Compilations and Containers explains the difference between the two features and how to set each up.

Access your usage statistics

Our self-serve usage dashboard shows how your collections are being discovered and accessed on JSTOR. The dashboard illustrates usage by the following data points:

  • Total Item Requests (views + downloads)
  • Percentage of items accessed
  • Countries
  • Institutional Landing Page Views
  • Top Items
  • Top Countries
  • Top Institutions
  • Usage by Access Type

A breakdown of item requests for your individual collections can be viewed by filtering using the chart key, and you can download individual reports in the upper right-hand corner.
Log in to the dashboard using your Forum account information. Please reach out to support@jstor.org if you experience any issues with access.
